Akiota is a hidden area in North-west side of Hiroshima prefecture. This is located in Quasi-National Park, and the Sandankyo Gorge in this town won the highest rating of 3 stars in the French travel magazine "Blue Guide". Ini no Tanada rice terraces, also in this town, were selected as CNN's “Japan 31 most beautiful places”. 90 percent of the town is forest, and people have cultivated forest culture. Akiota is rich in nature, you are able to enjoy cherry blossoms and fresh green in spring, forest bathing, mountain surfing, kayaking and camping in summer, autumn leaves, skiing. About 1 hour by car or express bus from Hiroshima station. Enjoy nature's activities in Akiota after visiting Hiroshima Peace Park or Miyajima, etc…

Not far from Hiroshima city, But high-quality snow piles up on the Chugoku Mountains during winter. The western Chugoku mountain area, a place where agricultural land plots and forests exist side-by-side, is considered a quasi-national park. Furthermore, the town also boasts Ini no Tanada rice terraces, which was the only rice terrace in Hiroshima prefecture to be selected as one of Japan’s top 100 rice terraces. Ini no Tanada rice terraces was also chosen to appear in a CNN special broadcast titled ‘Japan’s 31 Most Beautiful Places.’
